I am Kat Farrants who is lucky enough to be owned by an amazing and multi-talented Australian Shepherd, Trijem Yuletide Sapphire (Saffy) and her beautiful daughter, Solarwind Midnight Star (Starski).

Before Saffy, I used to show and own Dachshunds and trained my own dogs for obedience and agility. I was actively involved in the Kennel Club Junior Organisation and was awarded the Gold medal for Junior of the Year at Crufts 1989 by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.  I set up a local Dachshund club, trained my own and other people's dogs as well as using my club to fund-raise for Battersea Dogs Home. I have always looked forward to having an Aussie, but needed to wait to cater to their high-energy and commitment needs. The wait was well worth it!

Although competing and winning at dog shows is my hobby and a great deal of fun, my dogs are loved primarily as house pets who accompany me everywhere.
